Anxiety and Overthinking
When Worry Takes Up Space
You may reread conversations, imagine what could go wrong or forget ordinary things when stress builds. The constant mental motion can make even quiet moments feel crowded.
Day to day, overthinking can turn an ordinary conversation into hours of review. You may reread a message, revisit what you said or plan for every possible problem before anything has happened. At the same time, you may be carrying the decisions and details for other people. That combination can leave you exhausted, overwhelmed and overstimulated. Quiet does not always feel quiet when your attention is moving between yesterday's exchange and tomorrow's responsibility. Therapy gives those patterns a place to be named without asking you to force the thoughts away.

Notice the Pattern
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps us identify thought themes and ask whether they are helping you. We can draw on DBT and ACT skills, grounding and mindful attention to make more room between a thought and your next choice.
CBT is my foundation. Together, we can identify thought themes and look closely at what they ask you to believe or do. DBT and ACT skills can support you when worry is present, while somatic and mindfulness tools help you notice your attention and physical experience in the moment. Resilience skills I am certified by the U.S. Army to teach may also be useful. I bring accountability to this work, including intentional homework connected to a pattern from the session. The purpose is not a perfect week. It is a practical chance to notice what happens and bring that information back.
More About This
What If I Do Not Know Where the Worry Starts?
You can start with the moment that feels heaviest or the thought that returns most often. We can listen for themes together and choose one practical place to begin. You do not need to map the whole pattern before contacting me.

A Practical Next Step
We will begin with the worry that feels heaviest now. Together we can find small practices you can actually use during your day, not just ideas that sound good in a session.
Your first step does not require you to explain every worry. A free consultation can begin with the thought or situation taking up the most space now. If we decide to work together, individual therapy is available by secure video anywhere in Maryland, Monday to Friday, at $175 per session. I accept UnitedHealthcare, UMR, Optum, Aetna, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, and self pay. I verify your benefits before our first session, so there are no surprises. Reduced-fee options may be available. Ask about eligibility in your free consultation.
