Maryland Telehealth Support
Working Mothers
I am Christina Thompson, an LCPC with about 6 years in practice. I offer telehealth for adults and couples located in Maryland from Monday to Friday. Many women I work with describe a sense of being pulled in two directions at once. You might notice your thoughts drifting to household tasks during a meeting or felt a sense of distraction at home because of unfinished work. These patterns are common when you occupy multiple roles. My role is to offer a relational space where we can look at these daily pressures together. We use a grounded approach to explore how you navigate your time and energy while honoring your various responsibilities.

Observing The Second Shift
The transition from professional tasks to household responsibilities often happens without a break. You might find yourself managing school forms, meal logistics, and laundry as soon as you stop working. We can look at these patterns using CBT and ACT to understand how this mental load affects your daily experience. In our sessions, we practice identifying the specific moments where you feel most stretched. We explore how to communicate about these tasks and look at the ways you currently seek support. This process is about noticing your habits and considering how you might approach your routine with more clarity and less self criticism.
Addressing Daily Expectations
Internal pressure to meet every demand perfectly can lead to a cycle of self judgment. You may feel that you are not doing enough at the office or at home. I use a warm and relational style to help you examine these internal narratives. By using mindfulness based practices, we work on staying present with the task at hand. We explore how to acknowledge these feelings without letting them dictate your entire day. This work involves looking at your values and how they align with your current schedule. We focus on neutral observations of your life rather than focusing on perceived failures or shortcomings.
Physical Awareness In Routine
Daily stress often shows up as physical tension during a busy afternoon. I incorporate somatic and mindfulness based tools that you can use in your ordinary environment, such as while you are sitting at your desk or in a car. These are simple ways to notice physical sensations like a tight jaw or shallow breathing. By practicing these techniques, you become more aware of how your body responds to a full inbox or a loud household. We focus on these quiet moments of check in to help you stay connected to your physical self throughout your Monday to Friday schedule in Maryland.
Relational Patterns And Communication
When work and home life feel demanding, your primary relationship might feel like a series of logistical discussions. You might notice that conversations with a partner center mostly on chores and schedules. I use Gottman concepts to help you and your partner look at your communication styles. We explore how you share the mental load and how you express your needs to one another. This work focuses on practicing specific skills to help you both feel heard. By looking at these relational patterns, you can explore ways to interact that feel more grounded and less focused solely on the next task.
